The Ontario MINISTRY OF EDUCATION developed the Ontario Knowledge Network initiative to introduce next-generation technology into the education system. The program’s purpose was to improve access for all participants in education: educators, students and parents. The focus of the program was not the technology itself, but rather what it could provide the participants. Our mandate was to develop an identity for the program. Our solution was a mark that symbolized both the interrelationship between the participants as well as the diverse nature of the school curriculum, while drawing on the provincial flower – the trillium – as the basis for its shape.
The Ontario MINISTRY OF NATURAL RESOURCES (MNR) maintains multiple points of contact with the public in order to distribute information, licenses, documents, etc., as well as to respond to concerns from the community. Our task was to help institute a common standard of service to the public under the banner of a Ministry-wide initiative called Responsive & Resourceful – a name that recognized the best traits of MNR’s front-line staff. Shown here is a pocket guide that summarized the purpose of the initiative and some easy-to-remember pointers, and even included a tear-off panel with step-by-step tips.
